Conditions: Allergic Contact Dermatitis

What is Allergic Contact Dermatitis?

Contact dermatitis is one of the forms of eczema. It is caused by an allergic reaction to something the skin has come in contact with over time. The reaction develops in the area where you are applying the product. You are not born with these allergies, you only develop them with exposure to the offending chemical. This means that you can develop an allergy to something you might have been using for several years. Simply switching to a different brand of the product may not change anything if it has the same offending chemical in its ingredients.

Accessing your skin condition:

The best way to sort out the cause of these allergic reactions is by allergy testing (patch test). This is a simple in-office procedure. Dr. Marshall Welch has spent his career delving into the problems of skin allergy and is a recognized expert. He will work hard to solve your allergy issues.
