Procedures: Neuromodulators

What are Neuromodulators?

Neuromodulators (commonly known by the names Botox®, Xeomin® and Jeuveau™ are simple, nonsurgical treatments consisting of injections directly into the muscles. The neuromodulators work by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles allowing the muscles to relax. The relaxation of the muscle eliminates the cause of the creases and lines, so they resolve.

When will I see results from neuromodulators injections?

Juvederm Injections

Within days, you may notice a marked improvement in the moderate-to-severe lines and wrinkles in treated areas. For up to 30 days lines will continue to improve, and results can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may vary.

Are injectables painful?

Novathreads

Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injection, we offer to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. Most patients experience no downtime and are in and out of the office following treatment.

Do results differ?

Kybella Injections

Yes, individual results may vary. For the best results, it’s essential to go to a provider who is experienced in and specializes in administering the neuromodulators. Our providers specialize in Cosmetic Dermatology, treating thousands of patients every year with excellent results.

How do Neuromodulators work?

Neuromodulators work by blocking nerve impulses to injected muscles; this reduces muscle activity that can cause persistent wrinkles and lines to form in treated areas. When you concentrate, frown, or squint the muscles cause your skin to furrow and fold. After years of frequent contraction, those wrinkles can linger even after the muscles are at rest.

Jeuveau®️

Jeuveau™ (prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs) by Evolus is now FDA approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines in adults. Jeuveau™ is available at Dermatology Associates downtown Seattle clinic since becoming FDA approved. For more information on how Jeuveau™ works, click here.

BOTOX®️

BOTOX is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment in the world. In 2014 alone, over 5 million Americans received this remarkable yet straightforward treatment, and the trend is up. BOTOX has a stellar safety record when performed by trained professionals. BOTOX is derived from bacteria that temporarily blocks nerve activity. Besides its use as a useful wrinkle eraser, it is safely used for several medical conditions such as chronic migraine, overactive bladder, and spasms in the neck.

Xeomin®️

Xeomin is best for softening frown lines between your eyebrows as well as crows feet and other lines around the eyes, forehead, upper lip, chin and neck. Xeomin is an alternative to Botox and Dysport, which are a 'freezer' category of injectables, and we know how they all work, so you will never look 'frozen.'

What are typical side effects of neuromodulator treatments?

Each patient will react differently to the injection process. Common side effects are potential bruising, tenderness, and swelling at the treatment site, which can last up to two weeks. You should refrain from the use of aspirin products, fish oil, and red wine a few days before your appointment to significantly reduce the likelihood and duration of side effects.

When will I see results?

Patients will begin to see results 6-8 weeks after their treatment.
