What are Neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators (commonly known by the names Botox®, Xeomin® and Jeuveau™ are simple, non-surgical treatments consisting of injections (widely referred to as "injectables") directly into the muscles. The neuromodulators (injectables) work by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles allowing the muscles to relax. The relaxation of the muscle eliminates the cause of the creases and lines, so they resolve.
Cosmetic injectables are also muscle relaxers that block nerve transmission to specific muscles, preventing those muscles from contracting and creating wrinkles in the face. By using a very tiny needle and precise injection techniques, the practitioners at Dermatology Associates of Seattle can deliver cosmetic muscle relaxers with minimal discomfort, if any. Further, with decades of experience under their belt, they can relax target muscles while keeping expressive muscles active. This means that your face will still be completely dynamic, just without the creation of unsightly wrinkles.
When will I see results from neuromodulators injections?
Within days, you may notice a marked improvement in the moderate-to-severe lines and wrinkles in treated areas. For up to 30 days, lines will continue to improve, and results can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may vary.
Are injectables painful?
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Before injection, we offer to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. Most patients experience no downtime and are in and out of the office following treatment.
Do results differ?
Yes, individual results may vary. For the best results, it's essential to go to a provider who is experienced in and specializes in administering the neuromodulators. Our providers specialize in Cosmetic Dermatology, treating thousands of patients every year with excellent results.
When will I see results?
Patients will begin to see results 6-8 weeks after their treatment.
What are the common side effects of injectables/neuromodulator treatments?
Each patient will react differently to the injection process. Common side effects are potential bruising, tenderness, and swelling at the treatment site, which can last up to two weeks. You should refrain from the use of aspirin products, fish oil, and red wine a few days before your appointment to significantly reduce the likelihood and duration of side effects.
